Helping teachers provide students with important skills for engaged citizenship, active inquiry, critical thinking, and conflict resolution.
The resources found on this website are provided by the Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter School for Peace and Conflict Resolution. Our mission is to equip teachers with high-quality materials that set the stage for student engagement. Designed to incorporate key learning outcomes, these activities foster the development of critical thinking and a solutions-oriented mindset. The field of Conflict Analysis and Resolution offers a unique lens to help students think about both historical and contemporary real-world problems.
Conflict is all around us, at every level – from family arguments to international relations. With these materials, students will dig into the complexity of opposing views and learn how to navigate disagreements, think critically, and pursue a better world through listening, active inquiry, and considering perspectives other than their own. With contributions from Carter School faculty members, alumni, advanced students, and affiliates, our website is home to many thoughtful activities and lessons that can be utilized in a variety of courses across disciplines. Resolving conflicts is hard, and often, answers are comprised of many small building blocks. We have resources to help teachers give students the tools they will need as next-gen citizens who can collaborate to build solutions together.
